David Fuller, Managing Partner
My approach to sales leadership developed while working for three renowned Fortune 500 companies: Cintas, Ethicon-Endo Surgery (a division of Johnson & Johnson), and Parametric Technology Corporation (PTC). For the last two decades, I worked as an Owner, Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and/or Vice President of Sales for SMB-mid-market companies (e.g., Virtuance and Force Management) and led initiatives related to revenue growth, scalability, talent development, operational efficiency, and customer retention, diversification and growth of their revenue and client-facing teams.
Portco Revenue Advisors isn’t the first company I’ve started or participated in as an equity partner, but it is my dream job. Every day I have the opportunity to apply best practices and strategic methodologies (e.g., MEDDICC and Value-Based Selling) to help owners who are willing to make the changes necessary to grow revenue—whether they want to increase business value before a liquidity event, actively attract an investor, or are part of a private equity portfolio company.
Some of the owners we advise have a revenue target in mind, but don’t know how to hit it. Others know what they need to do, but simply don’t have time to focus their attention on developing their sales teams, creating sales playbooks, improving their onboarding processes, creating and executing go-to-market plans, or identifying and using the appropriate data to measure success.
My experience in the trenches and C-suite gives me a unique perspective, proven track record, and ability to synthesize the theoretical and the practical. My familiarity with a wide variety of industries equips me to bring the best practices from one sector to benefit others.
I think I’ve seen and overcome every possible sales revenue challenge: from strategic planning and sales structure refinement to process enhancement, performance assessment, and management development. Experience guiding turnaround, add-on, and high-growth has proven invaluable in collaborating with business owners and private equity firms.
